Martin Gough is founder and Managing Director of CALGAVIN Limited, formed in 1980 to research and develop enhancement solutions to improve the performance of tubular heat exchangers and reactors. He developed products and services including hiTRAN tube-side enhancement systems, thermal design, performance analytical services together with developing new process specific products.
Martin’s company invests extensively in applied research, through which he has gained valuable experience incorporating in-house testing with university research programmes to meet industry needs. Martin is a strong believer in collaboration and networking, developing effective communication skills, and establishing the company’s reputation for high quality technical presentations. Martin travels widely supporting the company which exports more than 90% of its products and services to some 40 countries in the last 2 years.
Martin is a past Chairman of the Heat Transfer Society and organises industrial conferences and exhibitions marketed now globally as ‘Heat Exchange Engineering’ (HEE), next-HEE Europe, Feb’ 2019 (Prague). He co-organised and chaired the 2004 European Thermal Sciences Conference and gave the Plenary Lecture at the Int’ Congress of Chemical and Process Engineering - CHISA 2012. Martin was formally a Board Director of Heat Transfer Research Inc. (HTRI) (2004 – 2012) and committee member of the Crude Oil Fouling Task Force.
Future plans include a new production, offices and development facility incorporating a co-located, joint venture research laboratory with UK universities. Retirement may follow!
