Ron Spear's early experiences in the Petro-Chemical industry were gained with contractors such as The Lummus Company and M. W. Kellogg designing shell and tube and air-cooled heat exchangers. He was then fortunate to be employed in the Projects Department at B.P. in London when the off-shore activity in the North Sea was in its infancy. Subsequently Ron became one of the founding members of Ventage Ltd, which was formed in the 1970’s to provide design and consultancy services for heat transfer equipment involving Shell and Tube Heat Exchangers, Waste Heat Boilers, Air Coolers etc. He
worked on plant re-vamps such as Nitric Acid, Phosphoric Acid plants, etc. where the production capacity was increased by as much as 40%. Ron's experience also embraces equipment for oil refineries, ammonia plants, ethylene plants and many other petro-chemical
manufacturing processes.
