Hezlin is the head of the engineering department and technical lead for a British heat exchanger manufacturing company, EJ Bowman Limited based in Birmingham where her responsibilities include project engineering planning, overseeing development and test program, manage root cause analysis on heat exchanger failure which her strength in corrosion, vibrational and stress analysis are vital to advise customers with the best installation solution especially in the marine industry. She is responsible for ensuring product manufacturing is in line with design requirements and deals with team of multidisciplinary group to complete various projects.
She graduated from Birmingham University Chemical Engineering Department in 2000 and after a short break in her home country in Malaysia, she continues her PhD with the Supercritical Fluids Group also within the Chemical Engineering Department in Birmingham University and obtained her Doctor of Philosophy in 2004. Her initial research was in hydrogen production from high water content waste in supercritical environment which was followed by toxic waste treatment in supercritical water reactors which started her interest in heat transfer engineering. Her technical strength and resilient started at a lab scale during her research years and have since been built up through managing various projects through her previous role as Chief Project Engineer where she lead the project for delivering cryogenic cooling system for engineering test facilities and industrial applications around the world. Her knowledge in various engineering technical compliance requirements such as Pressure Equipment Regulations, Pressure Equipment Directives, ASME and various Marine Shipping Classification (ABS, DNV-GL, BV etc) coupled with first principle engineering calculations and simulation analysis ensure route to market is as effective as possible.
